Mesonic screening masses at high temperature and finite density

چکیده

We compute the first perturbative correction to the static correlation lengths of light quark bilinears in hot QCD with finite quark chemical potentials. The correction is small and positive, with μ-dependence depending on the relative sign of chemical potentials and the number of dynamical flavors. The computation is carried out using a three-dimensional effective theory for the lowest fermionic Matsubara mode. We also compute the full correlator in free theory and find a rather complicated general μ-dependence at shorter distances. Finally, rough comparisons with lattice simulations are discussed. Finite Temperature Correlators in the Schwinger Model

We discuss the correlation function of hadronic currents in the Schwinger model at finite temperature T. We explicitly construct the retarded correlator in real time and obtain analytical results for the Euclidean correlator on a torus. Both constructions lead to the same finite temperature spectral function. The spatial screening lengths in the mesonic channels are related to the dynamical mes...

Heavy quark free energies and screening at finite temperature and density

We study the free energies of heavy quarks calculated from Polyakov loop correlation functions in full 2-flavour QCD using the p4-improved staggered fermion action. A small but finite baryon number density is included via Taylor expansion of the fermion determinant in the baryo-chemical potential µ. For temperatures above T c we extract Debye screening masses from the large distance behaviour o...

Chiral Symmetry Restoration at Finite Temperature in the Linear Sigma– Model

The temperature behaviour of meson condensates < σ0 > and < σ8 > is calculated in the SU(3) × SU(3)-linear sigma model. The couplings of the Lagrangian are fitted to the physical π,K, η, η′ masses, the pion decay constant and a O+(I = 0) scalar mass of mσ = 1.5 GeV. The quartic terms of the mesonic interaction are converted to a quadratic term with the help of a Hubbard-Stratonovich transformat...

Meson correlators in finite temperature lattice QCD QCD - TARO Collaboration :

We analyze temporal and spatial meson correlators in quenched lattice QCD at T ≥ 0. Below Tc we observe little change in the meson properties as compared with T = 0. Above Tc we observe new features: chiral symmetry restoration and signals of plasma formation, but also indication of persisting “mesonic” (metastable) states and different temporal and spatial “masses” in the mesonic channels. Thi...

Quantized meson fields in and out of equilibrium. II: Chiral condensate and collective meson excitations

We develop a quantum kinetic theory of the chiral condensate and meson quasiparticle excitations using the O(N) linear sigma model which describe the chiral phase transition both in and out of equilibrium in a unified way. A mean field approximation is formulated in the presence of mesonic quasi-particle excitations which are described by generalized Wigner functions. It is shown that in equili...
